Program Summary

Dreams’ Cuisine is workforce development program that utilizes a food truck social enterprise to provide immediate, short-term transitional employment and work readiness/life skills training to individuals facing significant barriers to employment (e.g., justice-involved, domestic violence, substance/alcohol addiction, housing instability/homelessness).  Program participants earn an hourly wage and strengthen essential soft skills while learning to operate the food trucks.  Additionally, participants attend weekly work readiness and life skills classes focusing on financial literacy, mental health awareness and emotional literacy, conflict management, and resume and interview coaching.  The program aims to support participants in overcoming employment barriers to secure competitive, long-term employment, occupational training, and/or educational opportunities that lead to sustained financial and housing stability.


The Job Developer will be responsible for networking and conducting other employer outreach initiatives to streamline job placement for Dreams’ Cuisine program participants.  Additionally, the Job Developer will work collaboratively with program staff and participants to ensure program practices align with the needs/expectations of employers.  As a liaison between employers and program participants, the Job Developer will maintain appropriate post-placement follow up to support employment retention and maximize the success of the established partnerships.


  • Develop sustainable employer partnerships in the public and private sectors to provide viable job opportunities to program participants
  • Maintain relevant labor market knowledge to identify potentially untapped industries and occupations offering viable placement opportunities
  • Meet with program staff and participants at regular intervals to assist in the assessment of participants’ job interests and employability
  • Contribute to program refinements that enhance alignment with employer needs and expectations
  • Establish and maintain post-placement follow up that maximizes employment retention and ensures employers are supported within the established partnership
  • Compile statistical and descriptive information for contract and other reporting requirements on a monthly basis

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or other relevant field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in job development
  • Experience working with individuals who are striving to overcome barriers to employment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to cohesive program practices that strengthen placement outcomes
  • Ability to use appropriate computer and reporting systems including (but not limited to) Microsoft Office software and Salesforce
