The Emergency Screening Unit (ESU) in Hillcrest is actively looking for energetic and flexible RNs with psychiatric experience. ESU is a medi-cal funded program that provides assessment and screening services to youth either on a 5150 or voluntarily. LVNs provide direct care to youth on crisis units while RNs assess/screen for SI/HI/GD and consult with the psychiatrist then a disposition plan is developed for the youth.
ESU is a 24/7 program with several 12-hour shifts available on our PM rotation (6pm-6:30am). Staff are hired as full-time and are eligible for full time benefits when they work three 12-hour shifts per week. Competitive pay starts at $20-$21/hour depending on experience. Must possess valid license as a LVN or LPT in California.
There are 3 possible outcomes of the assessment process: youth is admitted to the crisis unit for up to 23:59 of stabilization, youth is hospitalized to an inpatient bed, or youth is discharged home or to a respite bed.
