Dreams for Change has a unique opportunity for the right candidate to take a leadership role in driving our operations and mission in serving San Diego's homeless population to the next level.  We are seeking an Operations Manager to report directly to the founder and CEO of Dreams for Change. This role will take over and drive the day-to-day operations of Dreams for Change, providing a unique opportunity to "learn the ropes" of running a growing, non-profit, mission-driven organization.

This is a flexible part-time position with the potential for a full-time position as the organization grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Finance and Accounting (60% of time).
  • Issue invoices
  • Track Accounts Receivables
  • Manage Accounts Payable
  • Monitor contracts with vendors and customers
  • Reconcile bank accounts and produce simple financial reports monthly
  1. Human Resources (20% of time)
    • Source and manage Dreams for Change's benefits program
    • Produce a benefits brochure on an annual basis
    • Source and manage Dreams for Change's insurance portfolio, including Workers Compensation insurance
    • Manage HR paperwork for arriving and departing employee
  1. Business Operations (20% of time)
    • Complete payroll operations
    • Manager vendor relations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Management, Finance, Accounting or some other related field strongly preferred
  • Appropriate work experience in an operational, accounting or HR role
  • Minimum of 3 years operational knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Demonstrated ability to create processes, reports or databases in past roles
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Flexible, fast learner and self-starter
  • Ability to influence and drive action cross-functionally
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks or other similar accounting packages
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with or a desire to become involved with a mission-driven organization
