General Function: As a member of the Development Department, the Public Relations & Marketing Specialist develops, implements and oversees all functions of Casa de Amparo’s marketing, public relations, social media, websites, branding and employee communications. This position is responsible for the creative design, written content and execution of all external marketing publications, press releases, online communications and internal/external marketing documents with the goal of securing resources for the organization and increasing constituent engagement. This position reports to the Director of Development and coordinates regularly with the Executive Director and members of the Development Department.
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred. •Minimum three years’ relevant experience in marketing and/or public relations, branding strategies and excellent public speaking abilities required. •Must have strong organization, verbal and interpersonal communications skills and be deadline, detail and “big picture” oriented. •Must possess public speaking, media relations and social media experience. •Proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite (InDesign and Photoshop preferred) and graphic design skills or ability/desire to learn design software. •Excellent writing, grammar and editing ability required. •Must be professional, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands and fluctuating priorities utilizing problem-solving skills. •Must possess reliable personal transportation and be approved by the organization’s insurance carrier to drive personal vehicle. •Non-profit, fundraising experience and website development experience a plus.
