$1,000 Retention Bonus! This position is eligible for a retention bonus ($500 paid at six months and $500 paid at one year of employment!)

OVERVIEW: Founded in 1979 in direct response to rising rates of hunger and homelessness in North San Diego County, Interfaith Community Services works to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by Helping People Help Themselves. Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing programs designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis. Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: This position is responsible for recruiting and efficiently hiring the best-qualified candidates who embrace Interfaith’s mission and values. The Recruiter partners with hiring managers to develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract top-talent to assure staffing needs are achieved and maintained. Specific responsibilities include sourcing, screening, interviewing, creating job offers, developing recruitment plans, advertising/marketing, and assist with new hire orientations. The Talent and Retention Specialist exercises judgment in the performance of responsibilities and is expected to serve as a resource for other staff both within and outside of Human Resources.

• Collaborates with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies that identify and secure a highly talented workforce to support the agency’s continued growth
• Meets regularly with hiring managers to gain full appreciation of roles, services, and priorities; seeks to understand full scope of staffing requirements for operating effectiveness
• Coordinates and conducts the full scope of human resources recruitment activities
• Develops and implements recruitment communication strategies to market the agency to potential applicants; composes and posts employment advertisements to various internal and external job boards and media
• Utilizes HRIS Recruitment System to manage full cycle recruitment and staffing objectives
• Ensures that recruiting and employment practices are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws
• Reviews applications for employment and evaluates candidate qualifications against position job descriptions
• Develops screening and job-related interview questions, as requested, and maintains an interview question ‘bank’
• Actively engages in technical, behavioral or situational interviewing and assessments to pre-screen candidates for hiring consideration
• Oversees, schedules and conducts interviews and assessments; ensures that all applicants scheduled for interviews receive appropriate information and materials
• Prepares qualified, prospective candidates for interviews along with supporting recommendations; Ensures that diverse pools of talent are identified and presented to hiring managers
• Acts as an advisor on prospective candidates and influences the hiring and decision-making process
• Partners and provides a high level of support to hiring managers and ensure the right candidates are identified for each role
• Ensures a positive hiring manager and candidate experience throughout the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process
• Assists with new employee onboarding, new hire orientations, agency-wide tours, and initial training
• Participates in careers fairs and hiring events; uses social and professional networking sites to identify and recruit candidates
• Continually reviews and optimizes the recruitment process to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness
• Advises the Director of Human Resources regarding issues that significantly impact recruitment efforts and onboarding within the agency
• Works closely with other human resources, accounting and operations staff in a team environment
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 3+ years of recruitment experience required
• Experience recruiting for clinical, medical, supervisor, or social work positions preferred
• Experience with ADP HRIS systems preferred
