Part-time Non-Exempt (20 - 24 hours per week)

Report to: President/CEO


This part-time position will work within one or more specific functions of human resources. These could include onboarding, compensation, organizational development, labor relations, compliance, and human resources operations. Develops and works with managers and executives to implement changes to common core programs as well as policy or processes. Administers HR programs. Grows partnerships across the HR function. Effectively process company bi-weekly payroll in Paychex. Manages daily support activities for functional specialty.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist President/CEO with various reports and compliance
  • Prepare various reports and maintains records
  • Analyze trends and metrics
  • Ensure compliance and consistency on all pre-hire and on-boarding requirements
  • Maintain compliance of prescreening process
  • Recruit and track applicants on JazzHR
  • Administer various company programs including issuing HR policy guidance
  • Process bi-weekly payroll in Paychex
  • Conduct external benchmarking activities and job analysis for compensation
  • Perform audits, discuss findings and resolutions with applicable group managers and
  • Collaborate with external HR consultant to communicate various human resources policies, procedures, best practices, and local, federal, and state regulations. Provide support to internal management in the same areas
  • Be accountable for the accuracy and quality control of all work and communications.
  • Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, staff and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients
  • Maintain compliance with local, federal, and state regulations concerning employment and provide support to the HR team and leadership
  • Develop and provides functional training to HR and employees as needed
  • Attend webinars, seminars, and other training to stay up-to-date on laws and best practices
  • Recommend cost savings opportunities
  • Oversee Volunteer program
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by President/CEO

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience with a college degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources. Prefer experience with compensation and/or compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • Uses established procedures and works under immediate supervision to perform assigned tasks
  • Experience with payroll systems, Paychex a plus
  • Interprets and applies organizational policy
  • Maintains confidential information
  • Experience recruiting for a small office, JazzHR experience a plus
  • Participates in HR policy and program development with more external HR consultant
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness at all levels in the organization and across cultures.
  • Advanced experience with Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data and information
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Practical knowledge of background, drug and alcohol testing laws, regulations, reporting procedures, and recordkeeping requirements
  • Foundational knowledge of federal and state labor and employment enforcement agencies and compliance requirements
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with the standards, practices, policies, procedures, and local, federal, and state regulations
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks within tight deadlines, competing demands, and changes in the work environment
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events
  • Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Ability to establish credibility, be decisive and be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities
  • Understands fundamental HR concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Flexible schedule (pursuant to office hours)
